Okay friends, we are starting week6. This will just be radiation as I finished the chemo last week. Getting tired and so sore, this will probably be the worst week. Please pray that the mouth sores and tummy upsets are not too bad. Mostly I will probably just sleep this week until the bad stuff passes.
Wonderful last week, so nice to have Katie here and enjoying her friend Emily. Got to have a family dinner and good times with just Katie and Jimmy and I. We did have one valley to get through, our Lovey cat of 22 years had to be put down. Katie got Lovey when she was about 3 years old and so it was nice that we were together for the final days.
Thanks to you all for the blogs, they help me so much keep my spirits up. And some are just down right funny (Dick) and those really bring the smiles.
Blessings to all of you and lots of prayer to finish this out and get on to recovery. Jamie

Dear Jamie:
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear things are still progressing for you and that each and every week brings light at the end of the tunnel. The boys made it through fair week. I showed up for only two days of it and still had many stresses about it. Boys got their haircuts but they say not the same. School starts this Thursday, Aug. 20 and you know I have a senior this year. Some senioritis things are popping up already!
Talk to you later. Many thoughts and prayers from us to you.
Love,
Susan, Ken, Ben, and Cameron
Hi Jamie.......I finally got to a computer....
ReplyDeleteSooo good to read your blog and get updated.
I'm still in Michigan, probably for another week. I'm so sorry about Lovey. You and Jimmy have been in my prayers everyday. Hang in there ... You may be feeling "yukky" but you're healing from the inside out, thanks to all the prayers, and faith.... and modern medical miracles. Another friend who is also going through this just optimistically told me.... "It's just a process, and the process will soon be over."
See you soon, Jamie.
Love, Judi
Hi Jamie
ReplyDeleteIthink of you every single day! I know how you must feel (NO I HAVE NO IDEA), but we all pray that you soon will be much better! I hate to call and wake you or bother you while you relax, but remember.... you can always call day or night if you need anything! Hang in there this week! Hope to see ya soon. Love and prayers, Jo Dell
Dear Jamie, Oh...I was just thinking of Lovey yesterday. I am so sorry for you and Katie. Lovey was a precious kitty, part of our family giving unconditionally to all of us. -Rosie-

Jamnie.....I'm so sorry aboy Lovey, but I'm glad Katie was there with you. Seems like forever since I last saw you. I've wanted to drop by, but felt it was more appropriate to lay low until you feel better. Know that we love you and Jimmy, and we're so proud of your incredible spirit. give a jingle if you need anything.
ReplyDeleteJamie, These blogs help so much. Even so, I am ashamed to get behid before I get them on the e-mail prayer letter.
ReplyDeleteWe are so sorry you have sores in the mouth and tummy upsets from the radiation.
We will pray extra much for you tonight. However, once when I was praying for a loved one who was very sick and I was feeling so inadequate the Lord spoke to my heart, "It isn't your powerful prayers. It is your feeble prayers to an All-Powerful God!" He is so good.

and to shine;
the Lord my God illumines my darkness."

I am glad you liked the last poem. I felt sort of silly sending one I had written, but I feel free to share what I write. :-) You have encouraged me, so I'll share another one:
I’M READY …
Ready for the cocoon to open
Ready to fly away in the sun
Ready to sparkle in dazzling beauty
Ready with Jesus to overcome
Why does this life have so many struggles?
Why is it life has so many tears?
God know it’s struggles that keep me growing.
God know it’s trials that press me near.
I’m like a worm in its tiny chamber,
Struggling and pushing so hard to be free;
Forcing my way to the light above me;
Straining my eyes so that I might see.
I long for someone who will release me;
Someone to break this cocoon of pain;
But I know a butterfly is in danger,
Helped to escape without a strain.
…Don’t want to lie in the dust and flutter;
… Don’t want to lie limp in falling rain.
I want to grow strong as barriers shatter.
I want to soar with the victory gained.
Help me to know that You have a reason.
You are creating a treasure rare.
Help me to rise up above each challenge.
Help me to soar just because You care.
I’m ready.
Ready to shatter the hind’ring strongholds;
Ready to see all the victory won;
Ready to soar high on wings of morning;
Ready to mount up into the Sun. (Son)

Hi Jamie,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are nearing the end of your treatment and hope you won't be too uncomfortable this week. So sorry to hear about Lovey; I can't imagine having a pet for 22 years but of course that is because we've always had dogs. Please call when you feel up to it as I want to make you some soup of your choice.
Love and prayers,
Donna

Dear Jamie:
ReplyDeleteYou have been on my mind and I say a prayer for you every morning on my walk. Hope all is going well for you. Again if you need anything, please call me. Dinner fixed, check mail etc. whatever you need! The first day of school came and went. Reality set in when my Ben showed up at the house for lunch the first day of school - a senior for sure!! This week starts the busy school year. I am officiating the volleyball tournament here this weekend, Cameron has a football scrimmage, and next Friday Ben will run his first cross country invite in Sinclair. Whew!
Take care!
Love,
Susan
Dear Jamie, I wish could have chatted longer on Sunday. It was good to hear your voice. Hang in there, you've almost won the race! Hugs, Rosie
ReplyDeleteSaint Theresa's Prayer
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be confident knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.
